RatRace Dev Log 1 - Pre-Production
I found the pre-prodcution phase is very uesful for us to plan out our schedule for this semestar. The documents we finished last semestar gives us a guide about how we should start everything this semestar. As a team, we discussed about when and where we should meet. We will have two regular meetings per week. One during the class and one on friday morning vis discord chat. Wednesday is pretty empty for everyone so if things are getting busy we will have extra meetings on wednesday as well.
Another thing we found very useful is that the risk analysis does help us out this semester. I still remember last year when we were planning out the risk analyssis and laugh about what we should do if we lost one memeber of our team. We marked that risk as extremely low and thought that will nevenr happen. However, at the begining of this semester we confirmed that have lost one of our memeber due to personal medical issues. And at that point our risk analysis do actually works to help us scale down our game plan and re-balanced our workload as a team.
For the past two weeks, our team has been working on writing the narrative for our game. There are four levels according to our initial plan and we already get two months roughly finished. For each level, the narrative containes the basic dialogue for each character; their financial reports and also most importantly the options play can give to each guest as the financial advisor.
We found a lot issues during our writing process. Some conepts are not explaned well among the team and we have to sit down and re-study the terms. Also we found some of the options we wrote down last semester is not realistice or does not make sense under certain conditons. We rewrote a lot options in the past two week.
Overall we are happy with our progress right now and wish my team the best for the remaining of the game productuon.
